Neuroplasticity is a discovery that stills excites me. I always thought that I am a rather depressive or dysthymic person and that I was somehow "hardwired" in this way. So you can imagine how relieved I was when I read how moldable the brain really is.
So if you are tenacious in the attempt to change yourself, there's a high possibility that you will succeed. That you will actually "rewire" your brain and your whole feeling of how and who you are in this world. And that is what really excites me :-)

If you want to get a very good overview over the whole neuroplasticity science also understandabl for the layman check out the highly readable book of science journalist Sharon Begley called "Train your mind, change your brain - How a new science reveals our extraordinary potential to transform ourselves."

The first chapter is a little bit tedious, because it deals with the way the book developed, ifluenced by a kind of meeting between buddhism and science, but from the second chapter on the book really takes off. It reads like a mystery novel, breathtaking.

It's some time ago that I read the book, so I have forgotten already some of the facts. I think I have to reread it soon, cause I want to be inspired again :-)
